I tenango (table runner)

Named for Tenango de Doria, population from which they originate, the Tenangos are blankets with embroidered multi colored drawings. In them the daily life of the villages are represented Hidalgo, as planting and harvesting, their rites and celebrations, as well as plants and animals.

Many of these representations are surrounded by magic, because their creators mix various figures creating fantastic animals and objects as happens with alebrijes.

Whether as a tablecloth, Decorative painting, or parts of a garment or object, the Tenangos are unique beautiful pieces created by artisans with great creativity.
